I like to think that when Clint was sent to kill Natasha he decided to get to know her before taking her out. To see if she was really the cold-blooded killer she was made out to be. And they got into a lot of trouble, and saved each other a few times, and so when it came time for Clint to take the shot and take her out, he couldn’t do it.
